First meeting here at STC for our MindLab session 17 of the programme. Herbert we miss you! Establishing our understanding of Literature research and defining our questions.
Such an enthusiastic group. It's this kind of energy that motivates us.
Established this new Blog to gather information and share ideas.

    At this point I have come up with my first question; - "How can I use digital tools to engage and motivate student learning?" What do you think? Anyone??? Too broad? Not narrow enough?

    Met again today, despite the miserable weather and together we worked on our questions. These are slowly taking shape. I am keen to learn about how to engage students with the digital tools. It has been suggested that I redefine 'digital tools'.
    This is a little taxing at the moment. I feel stuck!

Activity Seven: Crossing Boundaries We are always looking at new ways of improving teaching and learning. Interdisciplinary innovation is not really new. I can remember ‘thematic’ approaches to learning, where all subject areas were squeezed in under a theme. At times some subject areas just didn’t fit and consequently had to be left out. Activity 1: Define my Community of Practice

Rather late getting underway – but here I am on holiday, stressing over my first blog for this assessment. This is my observation on my community of practice. Community of Practice I teach at a catholic college and for me it is here my community of practice starts. The special character of an integrated school is very evident. The special character reflects a definite charism which constitutes who we are and what we stand for. It is within this system I feel a sense of belonging and as a catholic school we have a strong sense of being comfortable in an environment that promotes strong virtuous values. Wenger-Trayner,(April 2015) champion the notion; identity and recognition of who and where we fit in is a key element in a community of practice.
